Brilliant Club Graduation Ceremony – Scholars Programme

For seven weeks our ambitious Year 9 students have been attending virtual lectures as part of the Brilliant Club Scholars Programme.

The group were taught by PhD lecturer Rathi Ravindrarajah, and looked at the question – Living Longer: A Boon or a Curse.

Lectures included looking at features of the ageing process, learning how to read academic articles and analysing statistics.

The final assignment required students to collate information from all sessions and produce a proposal for funding. Our Year 9s did not disappoint with three students receiving top grades.

To conclude the project, the group attended a graduation ceremony at Newcastle University where they received their certificates. Well done to the Brilliant Club Scholars who demonstrated motivation, resilience and respect.
