Vice Principal - Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)

Back
Miss. L Sims
I am the Vice Principal at Oulton Academy with lead responsibility for Inclusion. I have a genuine passion for Inclusion and have worked in pastoral roles for the past 10 years, initially starting my career as a Physical Education Teacher before becoming Head of Year 8 and 9, subsequently progressing through various roles in leadership.

I am the Designated Safeguarding Lead at the Academy. The well-being and safety of all students and those in our academy community underpins every decision that I make and is always the priority in everything I do.

I joined Oulton Academy (as Royds) in April 2021. In my previous school in Doncaster I was part of the leadership team that developed the school to its latest Ofsted rating of 'Good' with Outstanding features, with inclusion highlighted as a strength in the academy. I also successfully secured the Inclusion Quality Mark, Centre of Excellence status.

I am excited to be working alongside such dedicated and experienced colleagues as we continue to strive for excellence at Oulton Academy.
