Mr. A Houghton

I joined the academy in January 2013; initially with responsibility for setting up and running many the systems that underpin the operation of the academy. Since then I have taken on responsibility for the management of the academic life of the school. This includes student reports, exams, options, timetables and an overview of the setting process.

Prior to joining the academy, I was a senior leader at a school in Cambridge, helping improve it from the bottom 25% of the country to the top 20%. I started my career as a teacher of Computer Science, ICT and Maths but I am a keen musician and love supporting student’s in developing their confidence to perform at school concerts and shows. Outside of school I enjoy playing in brass bands and spending time with my family.
