National School Sports Week: Get Moving with 60 Minutes of Daily Activity!
Join Us for National School Sports Week: Get Moving with 60 Minutes of Daily Activity!
National School Sports Week is just around the corner, and we are thrilled to celebrate this exciting event with all of you! Our mission this year is clear: to encourage every student to get moving and aim for at least 60 minutes of physical activity each day. With the exhilarating atmosphere of the Euros as our backdrop, we've lined up a series of fun and dynamic activities to get everyone involved and active. Here's how we plan to kick it off:
A. Lessons with a Twist: Football-Themed Activities
In the spirit of the Euros, we’re bringing a bit of football magic into our classrooms. Each class will incorporate a football element into their lessons, blending sports with learning in a fun and engaging way. Imagine playing football rounders or football cricket! These activities are designed to not only give you a taste of the beautiful game but also to ensure you’re staying active.
Get ready to dribble your way through different subjects and score some goals while learning! This unique twist on traditional lessons will make sure that you're not just sitting at your desks, but moving and having fun.
B. MUGA Madness: Multi-Use Games Area for Year 7
Year 7 students, we have a special treat for you! During break times, the Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) will be open exclusively for you. This space is your playground to explore various sports and activities beyond football.
Whether it’s basketball, tag, or any other sport, the goal is to keep you moving and enjoying yourselves. The MUGA is your arena to try something new, meet new friends, and most importantly, boost your daily activity levels.
C. Track Your Activity: The Active Planner Challenge
To make sure we’re all hitting our goal of 60 minutes of activity each day, all Year 7 students will receive an Active Planner. This planner is your tool to log all the physical activities you do throughout the week. From running in PE to playing with friends, every bit counts.
Your aim? To accumulate 420 minutes of physical activity by the end of the week! That’s 60 minutes each day. Use your planner to track your progress and see how close you get to reaching the goal. It’s a fun way to stay motivated and see how much you’re moving each day.
Why 60 Minutes a Day?
Regular physical activity is essential for your health and well-being. It boosts your mood, improves concentration, and keeps your body strong and healthy. By aiming for 60 minutes of activity daily, you’re not just participating in National School Sports Week – you’re also setting up great habits for life.
Let’s Get Active Together!
We’re excited to see everyone come together for a week of fun, movement, and friendly competition. So, lace up your trainers, grab your planners, and get ready to kick off National School Sports Week with energy and enthusiasm.
Remember, it’s not just about football – it’s about finding joy in movement and discovering how fun staying active can be. Let’s make this week one to remember!
Stay active and enjoy the week!
