A Warm Welcome to Our Future Students and Parents

On a delightful evening in June, Oulton Academy hosted its annual Y6 Transition Evening, a tradition that brings together incoming Year 6 students, their parents, and the form tutors who will guide them into their secondary school journey. This year, the school halls buzzed with excitement as families gathered to meet the form tutors who will play a pivotal role in their children’s lives starting this September.

The event marked a significant moment for both students and parents, providing a first-hand experience of the nurturing and supportive environment that Oulton Academy is renowned for. With a mixture of anticipation and curiosity, families had the opportunity to engage directly with the tutors, ask questions, and explore the campus that will soon become a familiar and friendly space for their children.

Principal John Higgins warmly welcomed the attendees. In his opening remarks, he emphasised the importance of these initial interactions in setting a positive tone for the upcoming school year.

“We believe that establishing a strong, personal connection from the very beginning is crucial,” said Principal Higgins. “Tonight is about more than just introductions; it’s about building trust and creating a sense of belonging. We want every student and parent to feel confident and excited about the journey ahead.”

The evening’s agenda was thoughtfully designed to cater to the diverse needs of the attendees. Each form group was scheduled to meet with their designated form tutor, allowing for meaningful conversations and a deeper understanding of what to expect in the coming year. Tutors shared insights into the daily routines, academic expectations, and the vibrant school culture that makes Oulton Academy unique.

The Y6 Transition Evening at Oulton Academy was not just an introduction; it was the beginning of a partnership between families and educators, united in their commitment to nurturing the next generation. As September approaches, the school looks forward to continuing this journey, embracing new faces with open arms and unwavering support.
