National School Sports Week: Oulton Academy's Year 7s Enjoy the Multi-Use Games Area

As National School Sports Week kicked off, Oulton Academy is thrilled to highlight an exciting opportunity for our Year 7 students: the exclusive use of the Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) during break times. This initiative aligns perfectly with the national campaign's goal of encouraging at least 60 minutes of daily physical activity amongst school children.

The Multi-Use Games Area is not just a sports facility; it’s a dynamic space designed to inspire and motivate students to engage in a variety of physical activities. While football is often the go-to sport, the MUGA invites Year 7s to explore beyond the pitch. From basketball to tag, and even creative team games, there’s something for everyone.

Every day during breaks, the MUGA becomes a vibrant hub where Year 7 students can try out new sports, develop new skills, and foster friendships. This initiative not only provides a fun and engaging way to stay active but also supports the development of teamwork, leadership, and social interaction skills.

Engaging in daily physical activity offers numerous benefits that extend beyond just physical health. Regular movement helps improve concentration, reduces stress, and enhances overall well-being. By providing Year 7s with a dedicated space to be active, Oulton Academy is championing a holistic approach to student development.
