Oulton Academy Shines in Citywide Art Competition

Oulton Academy's art club recently showcased their incredible talent in a citywide competition themed 'Towards a Greener Planet'. 22 students from the academy entered the contest, submitting thought-provoking pieces that addressed crucial environmental issues such as reducing waste and recycling.

We are thrilled to announce that Madison of Year 10 emerged victorious, winning a £100 prize for her outstanding artwork. Additionally, the art club received £100 to spend on supplies, further supporting their creative endeavors.

On Saturday, a special dinner was held to honor the dedication of all participants. The event saw 150 attendees from across the city, including notable figures such as the Lord Lieutenant, the Rector of Leeds Minster, and several local councillors. During the evening, I had the privilege of being invited on stage twice to receive gifts and deliver an acceptance speech.
