Student Leaders Unite to Drive Positive Change Across Carlton Academies

Student leaders from the Mental Health and Wellbeing group and the Anti-Bullying group have taken part in a transformative leadership initiative aimed at fostering collaboration and driving school improvement across the Carlton Academy Trust.

The initiative began with two engaging workshops focused on developing leadership skills and exploring the qualities that define effective leaders. These sessions empowered students to reflect on their roles and responsibilities as change makers within their school communities.

Following the workshops, the student leaders gathered at the Cedar Court Hotel in Bradford for a collaborative summit with peers from Carlton Keighley and Carlton Bolling. The event provided a unique opportunity for cross-academy dialogue, where students shared best practices and identified common challenges.

Working in mixed-school groups, the students examined successful strategies already in place across the three academies. They then brainstormed innovative ideas to enhance student wellbeing and tackle bullying more effectively within their respective schools.

As a culmination of their efforts, four students from each academy have been selected to present their findings and improvement proposals to the Carlton Trustees. This presentation will serve as a platform for student voices to influence policy and practice at the highest level of the Trust.

This initiative marks a significant step in empowering young leaders to shape a more inclusive, supportive, and forward-thinking school environment.
