Farewell to Our Fantastic Year 11s: A Day of Celebration, Laughter and Goodbyes

Oulton Academy said an emotional farewell to our incredible Year 11 students this week, marking the end of their journey with us in a day filled with celebration, reflection and pride.

The whole school community came together to give our leavers the send-off they truly deserved, forming a guard of honour to applaud them through the corridors one final time. Cheers, claps and even a few tears echoed through the building as students and staff celebrated the achievements and memories of the Class of 2025

The day culminated in our traditional final year assembly, led with warmth and humour by Mr Carolan, who took us all on a trip down memory lane. There were plenty of laughs, a few tears, and heartfelt words reminding students of just how far they’ve come — and how bright their futures can be.

Of course, no leavers’ day would be complete without the iconic shirt signing, as blazers and school shirts quickly filled with messages of friendship, good luck, and fond farewells.

Behind the celebrations lies the incredible hard work and dedication these students have shown in preparing for their GCSEs. Their focus, effort, and resilience during the exam season has been nothing short of inspiring.

As we wave goodbye to this brilliant group of young people, we want to say a huge thank you for the memories, the contributions you’ve made to Oulton Academy, and the example you’ve set for younger students.

We are immensely proud of every single one of you and wish you all the very best in your next steps – whether that’s college, apprenticeships, or new adventures elsewhere.

Good luck Year 11 – you’ll always be part of the Oulton family.
