Oulton Academy Welcomes Future Stars at Year 6/7 Transition Evenings

This week, Oulton Academy proudly welcomed nearly 700 visitors across two fantastic Year 6/7 Transition Evenings, held on Tuesday and Thursday. These events gave our incoming Year 7 students the chance to meet their new form tutors and begin building the relationships that will support them through their secondary school journey.

The evenings were expertly organised by Vice Principal Lauren Sims, whose attention to detail ensured a smooth and welcoming experience for all families attending.

Principal John Higgins shared his thoughts on the success of the events:
“It was a pleasure to see so many excited young people and their families engaging with our staff and beginning their journey with us. The enthusiasm in the room was a clear reflection of the trust our community places in Oulton Academy. We are proud to be the school of choice in the area, and we’re excited for what the future holds.”

Adrian Kneeshaw (CEO of Carlton Academy Trust) added:
“The really pleasing aspect is the level of parental buy-in demonstrated by the attendance rates at the transition events. I am already excited to think what their results will look like in 2030.”

With demand already exceeding capacity and a waiting list in place for next year, Oulton Academy continues to grow in popularity. As we look ahead to a brand-new school build and remain committed to delivering outstanding education, the future is bright for our students and our community.
