A Global Impact: 13 Acres of Rainforest Protected Thanks to Your Support
Over the past 12 months, our school community has come together in an incredible show of support for environmental conservation. Through a variety of fundraising events, raffle donations, and ticket sales, we’ve raised an amazing £1,300—and we’re thrilled to share the impact that money has made.
Thanks to your generosity, we’ve been able to secure and protect 13 acres of tropical rainforest in Ecuador, working in partnership with the EcoMinga Foundation. This land is now safe from deforestation and will continue to support biodiversity, store carbon, and provide a vital habitat for countless species.
Originally, our goal was to contribute to the protection of the Atlantic Forest in Brazil. However, due to the overwhelming success of that project, the conservation team was able to complete their goals ahead of schedule. This allowed us to redirect our efforts to the Olivier Currat Reserve in Ecuador, where the need for protection remains urgent and ongoing.
This achievement is a powerful reminder that our students and school community can make a real, tangible difference on a global scale. Every raffle ticket bought, every donation made, and every event attended has contributed to this success.
Looking ahead, the Eco-Committee is already setting its sights on an even more ambitious goal: protecting 35 acres of rainforest. With continued dedication and support, we’re confident this target is within reach.
Well done to everyone involved—and thank you once again for being part of something truly meaningful.
