Oulton Academy Open Evening Attracts Over 1,500 Visitors: A Resounding Success

Oulton Academy’s 2025 Open Evening for prospective Year 5 and 6 students saw an extraordinary turnout, with over 1,500 visitors and more than 300 cars arriving throughout the evening. Families from across the region queued outside the academy, eager to explore the facilities and meet the staff and students who make the school such a vibrant and welcoming place.

Visitors were welcomed into the PA Hall for one of three presentations from Principal John Higgins, who shared the academy’s vision, values, and recent successes.

“This evening has been a celebration of our community,” said Mr Higgins. “We’re proud to be the clear school of choice in the area, and the turnout tonight reflects the confidence families have in what we offer. Our results, our culture, and our commitment to every child’s development speak for themselves.”

The event follows another outstanding year of academic results, further cementing Oulton Academy’s reputation for excellence. With Year 7 and Year 8 already oversubscribed and waiting lists in place, the demand for places continues to grow.

Parents were full of praise for the evening. One commented, “We’ve been to a few open evenings, but this one stood out. The staff were so approachable, the students were confident and proud, and the range of subjects and opportunities is impressive.”

Throughout the evening, families explored classrooms and interactive displays across a broad range of subjects, including English, Maths, Science, Humanities, the Arts, and Technology. Staff and students were on hand to answer questions and showcase the academy’s rich curriculum and commitment to personal development.

With such a strong turnout and overwhelmingly positive feedback, Oulton Academy has once again proven why it remains the top choice for families in the region.

Thank you to all the staff and students who took part in making tonight such an outstanding event.
