Year 11 Information Evening Sets the Stage for Success at Oulton Academy
Tonight, Oulton Academy proudly hosts its Year 11 Information Evening—a key event that sets the tone for the academic year and reinforces the high expectations we hold for every student.
As our Year 11s prepare for their final year at the academy, this evening is focused on raising aspirations, improving life chances, and driving ever-improving outcomes. Our Heads of Maths, English, and Science will be delivering powerful messages about the skills, mindset, and school values needed to succeed—not just in exams, but in life beyond school.
We’re also delighted to welcome 16 Sixth Form providers and representatives from York University, offering students a valuable opportunity to explore their post-16 options. Whether considering A-levels, vocational pathways, or university life, tonight is about helping students see the possibilities ahead.
A special highlight of the evening was the return of former Oulton Academy students, now representing Leeds Mathematics School. It was fantastic to see them thriving in their first-choice destination—proof of the strong foundation and support they received here. Their success is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when students embrace the opportunities at Oulton Academy.
Mr Higgins, Principal of Oulton Academy, shared:
“This evening is about inspiring our students to aim high and believe in their potential. We want every Year 11 student to leave tonight with a clear sense of purpose and the confidence to take the next steps in their journey.”
We look forward to an engaging and informative evening that will help shape the future of our Year 11 cohort.
