Students Win Trophy at World Championship
Two of Oulton Academy's students, Nerissa B & Olivia M, have won third place in the All-Star World Championship with the rest of their team from Leeds Dynamite!
Both girls have been part of the dance group for several years now, and regularly practice and take place in many competitive events with Leeds Dynamite. Last year they won a competition in Stoke, scoring 89/100 and beating all the seniors and Team England! Winning this competition also secured their place to compete at the All-Star World Championship in Florida, USA.
For Hip Hop dancing, the All-Star World Championship is equivalent to the Olympics, and gave the Oulton Academy students the opportunity to compete against some of the most prestigious dance companies from across the world. The competition took place in May at Universal Studios, Florida and was broadcasted around the world.
Nerissa, Olivia and their Leeds Dynamite teammates earned their oppurtunity to perform at the All-Star World Championship Finals which took place at the Orange County Convention Centre in Florida. Their final performance won them a brilliant 3rd place out of all the other competing teams and they took home the bronze trophy!
Oulton Academy is extremely proud of their achievements! Well done to everyone involved!
