Year 10 Students Inspired by Tech Visit to Axiologik Leeds
Our Year 10 students recently stepped out of the classroom and into the fast-paced world of digital transformation during a dedicated work experience day at Axiologik in Leeds.
A Founder’s Journey
The day kicked off with an engaging presentation from one of Axiologik's founders, who shared his personal career path—moving from an IT employee to launching a successful company. This firsthand account offered students a rare look at the grit and vision required to build a business in the competitive tech sector.
Hands-on Workshop: The Project Manager Challenge
Students quickly moved from listening to doing as they took part in an interactive workshop simulation. Acting as project managers, they were tasked with:
- Designing complex IT jobs.
- Developing solutions under pressure.
- Testing products to ensure high quality.
- Meeting strict deadlines to deliver for their "clients."
This role-play exercise allowed our students to develop essential employability skills like teamwork, problem-solving, and time management in a realistic professional setting.
Exploring the World of Tech
The visit concluded with a deep dive into the diverse career paths available within a modern IT consultancy. From engineering and product management to finance and brand strategy, students learned that it takes a wide range of talents to provide IT solutions for global customers.
Oulton Academy would like to extend a huge thank you to the team at Axiologik for hosting such an inspirational day and helping our students envision their own bright futures in the world of work.
