Adventure Awaits: Year 9 Launch Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award

Excitement is building at Oulton Academy as our Year 9 students officially begin their journey toward the Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Bronze Award.

Recently we have passed a major milestone for the cohort. Each student received their official DofE booklet, a vital tool they will use to track progress and record every session as they move through the programme.

To get the ball rolling, the group successfully registered on the DofE app. They have already started digitising their journey by uploading their personal choices for the three main sections:

  • Volunteering: Giving back to the community.
  • Physical: Improving fitness and health.
  • Skills: Developing a new talent or hobby.

Whether they are learning to cook, coaching a local team, or hitting the gym, our students are showing fantastic initiative. This award is a brilliant way to build resilience, confidence, and teamwork—qualities we value dearly here at Oulton.

We wish our Year 9s the very best of luck as they embark on this exciting new chapter. We can't wait to see your progress!
