Second Year 7 Information Evening Brings Families Together
Oulton Academy was delighted to welcome the second half of our Year 7 families to the academy last night for another highly successful Information Evening.
The event provided parents and carers with the opportunity to meet their child's form tutor, discuss progress, celebrate achievements and ensure students are continuing to settle successfully into academy life. These conversations are a key part of strengthening the partnership between home and school and help ensure every student receives the support they need to flourish.
The evening was very well attended, with families appreciating the chance to speak directly with staff in a welcoming and informal environment. Feedback from parents was overwhelmingly positive, with many commenting on the value of the discussions and the opportunity to build strong relationships with academy staff.
Following the meetings, parents and carers enjoyed a complimentary meal, including traditional pie and peas, delicious beef brisket wraps and a selection of refreshments. The food was extremely well received and provided a fantastic opportunity for families to continue conversations with staff and each other.
Principal John Higgins said:
"It has been fantastic to welcome so many of our Year 7 families into the academy over the last two weeks. Strong communication between home and school is essential if we are to give every child the very best chance of success. Both evenings have provided valuable opportunities for parents and carers to meet with form tutors, ask questions and celebrate how well our students have settled into life at Oulton Academy. I would like to thank our staff, families and catering team for helping make these events such a tremendous success."
With both Year 7 Information Evenings now complete, Oulton Academy would like to thank all parents and carers who attended. The excellent turnout and positive feedback reflect the strength of our school community and our shared commitment to supporting every student throughout their secondary school journey.
