Eco-School Green Flag International Award

Oulton Academy has been awarded Green Flag Status with Distinction for all of the Eco-Committee’s work in improving biodiversity and increasing environmental awareness around school and the local community.

This is an international award and is only given out when you meet an extensive set of criteria that normally takes around 2/3 years to achieve. With a lot of hard work and determination, our Academy has archived this in one school year!

We now join an elite group of schools around this country and EU with this Internationally accredited Kitemark and hold the accolade for at least two years. 

After the assessment phase we received some incredible feedback regarding our evidence and initiatives in which we were told we have been held up as best practice by the accreditation judges. Alongside the flag, which waves proudly at the front of the school, we are being recognised on their website for our Eco-Code and Geography Curriculum.
